Ideally, training should begin about 70 days after the puppy is born. Alternatively, weekday training should be done gradually from the day the puppy arrives at the home. At this stage, the puppy has not yet picked up any bad habits and is relatively weak, which makes it easier for the handler.
One year after birth, the dog will reach adulthood and will have gained a lot of strength. Training at this stage requires a certain amount of physical effort and patience. For example, it is difficult to correct a dog that weighs about 9kg without letting it run or lunge, bark for no reason during a walk, urinate or defecate anywhere, and lunge at people.
If it takes 2-3 months to correct a puppy, it will take longer to correct an adult dog. A dog grows fastest in the first year of life. During this time, the brain is developing and it is a critical time for the dog to learn how to do things well and how to do things badly. Therefore, this year is the best time to train your dog. But don’t think that your dog is too old to be trained.
In fact, all dogs can be trained, no matter how old they are. However, it will take more physical effort and patience than training from a puppy. If a dog that has not been cared for as much as it should have been or has been allowed to run free has picked up bad habits, it will take twice as long, three times as long, or even longer, but in any case, you should have faith that your dog can be trained.
